5 August 2025, 12:01 Finland: Trade Surplus Narrows in June.
Finland’s trade surplus narrowed to EUR 0.53 billion in June 2025 from EUR 0.93 billion from the corresponding month of the previous year, preliminary estimates showed. Exports fell by 4.4% year-on-year to EUR 6.45 billion, dragged down by lower sales to EU (-15.1%), while it rose to non-EU countries (12%). Among trading partners, exports declined mainly to Germany (-58.7%), US (-3.1%), and China (-34.7%). Meanwhile, imports grew by 1.8% to EUR 5.92 billion, due to increased purchases from EU (3.7%), while it decreased from non-EU countries (-0.8%). Imports rose mostly from US (25.8%), Germany (3.4%), Sweden (7.4%), and China (2.5%). For the first half of the year, the country recorded a trade surplus of EUR 0.02 billion, shifting from a EUR 1.61 billion deficit in the same period last year.
