4 August 2025, 23:01 France: CAC 40 Starts the Week Strong.
The CAC 40 rose 1.1% to over 7,632 on Monday, rebounding as investors capitalized on last week’s sharp selloff amid mounting concerns over US economic resilience and renewed global growth fears following President Trump’s announcement of new tariffs. Uncertainty deepened after Trump dismissed the head of the BLS, raising doubts about the reliability of upcoming US data. Investor attention now shifts to a flurry of corporate earnings and domestic indicators, including PMI and industrial production, which are expected to shed light on the strength of the French economy. Leading gains came from Airbus (+1.9%), Schneider Electric (+2.5%), AXA (+1.7%), Safran (+2.6%), and BNP Paribas (+2.6%).
