29 August 2025, 20:26 Chile: Industrial Output Growth Slows Amid Mining Decline.
Chile’s industrial production rose 1% year-on-year in July 2025, down from a 3.2% increase in June. Growth was driven by manufacturing and utilities, with the manufacturing index up 2.7% over 12 months, led by a 3.5% rise in food production. The utilities index grew 0.9%, led by a 6.9% increase in gas, while all three activities in the sector saw gains. In contrast, mining activity declined, falling 0.9% year-on-year due to lower output across all mining types, including a drop in copper production from reduced ore grades. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output rose 1.3%.
