The year-ahead inflation expectations in the United States, as compiled by the survey of the University of Michigan, were at 4.8% in August 2025, slightly below the preliminary estimate of 4.9% but above June's five-month low of 4.5%. Meanwhile, the five-year outlook was revised down to 3.5% in August from the initial 3.9% estimate, but remained above July’s 3.4%.
