29 August 2025, 12:04 Slovenia: Inflation Rate at 16-Month High.
Slovenia’s annual inflation rate rose to 3% in August 2025 from 2.8% in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since April 2024, driven by increased costs of clothing and footwear (6.9% vs 1.1% in July), furnishing, household equipment, and ongoing apartment maintenance (0.6% vs 0.1%), health (4.5% vs 4.3%), and recreation and culture (3.1% vs 3%). Meanwhile, costs moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (7.6% vs 7.7%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.7% vs 4%), housing and utilities (0.5% vs 0.7%), and restaurants and hotels (5.1% vs 5.6%), while deflation persisted in transport (-1.1% vs -0.4%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices were flat in August, following a 0.5% gain in the previous month.
