29 August 2025, 10:49  Italy: Stocks Decline.

The FTSE MIB dropped to around 42,300 on Friday, approaching its lowest level in over two weeks and mirroring declines across most European peers. Investors shifted their attention to inflation data and second-quarter GDP releases from several of the region’s major economies, including Italy. In the US, focus will be on the PCE price index, the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge. The release follows a speech by Fed Chair Jerome Powell last week that was widely interpreted as dovish, reinforcing expectations of a possible rate cut in September. On the local bourse, notable losses came from STMicroelectronics, Mediobanca, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, and Telecom Italia, which fell between 0.7% and 2.6%. For the week, the benchmark index is on track for its first decline in four, though it remains headed for a monthly gain.
