Turkey’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 8.0% in July, the lowest in four months, easing from a downwardly revised 8.4% in June. The number of jobless dropped by 164,000 to 2.83 million, while employment increased by 18,000 to 32.58 million, keeping the overall employment rate steady at 49.1%. Male employment slipped to 66.1% from 66.4% in June, while female employment improved to 32.4% from 32.1%. Labor force participation eased to 53.3% from 53.6%. Youth unemployment (ages 15–24) declined to 15.0% in July from 15.9% in June.
