On a positive note, data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association showed European Union new car registrations rose by an annual 7.4% in July, notching a 39.1% increase in the number of battery-electric vehicles. Among equities, top advancers included Siemens, Sartorius, Siemens Energy, Infineon Technologies, Continental, Mercedes-Benz Group and BMW, with gains ranging between 0.8% and 1.65%. On the downside, Qiagen NV saw its shares drop over 4% after launching a non-US offering of net share settled convertible bonds.
