India's BSE Sensex closed about 0.9% down at 80,080.6 on Thursday, its lowest since August 8 and extending losses for the second day. Most sectors, including Auto, IT, FMCG, and metals, posted declines amid mounting concerns about the impact of the additional 25% tariff imposed by the US on India.
Besides this, persistent foreign fund outflows also dented investors’ sentiment.
