Bank lending to households in the Eurozone rose by 2.4% year-on-year to EUR 7.030 trillion in July 2025, the fastest pace since April 2023 and in line with market expectations. The increase reflects a continued recovery in credit demand, supported by the European Central Bank’s recent policy easing. Also, lending to businesses increased to 2.8%, from 2.7% in June. Still, overall credit growth to the private sector decreased to 2.8% in July from 3.0% in June.
