28 August 2025, 11:27  United Kingdom: Car Production Rises for 2nd Straight Month.

UK car production rose 5.6% year-on-year in July 2025 to 69,127 units, marking a second consecutive monthly increase, though overall output was capped by weakness in commercial vehicle manufacturing. Production for both domestic and export markets improved, up 13.6% and 3.7% respectively, with overseas shipments accounting for the bulk of output (79.4%). The EU remained the top destination for UK car exports with a 45.6% share, followed by the US (18.1%), China (7.7%), Turkey (7.2%) and Japan (3.4%). While shipments to the EU and China fell 7.9% and 7.1% respectively, exports to Turkey and Japan grew sharply by 35.4% and 14.9%. Deliveries to the US rose 6.8% to nearly 10,000 units, snapping a three-month losing streak. The US remains the largest single national market for British-built cars, underscoring the significance of the UK-US trade deal that came into effect on June 30, with July’s rebound reflecting its early impact.
