The Ibovespa rose 1% to close at 139,206 on Wednesday, its highest level since July 8th, as a firmer domestic macro backdrop and clearer policy signals, coupled with supportive corporate flows, reduced the equity discount on Brazilian cash flows. Brazil’s mid-month inflation print eased, with the 12-month IPCA-15 slowing to 4.95% in August, marking progress toward the central bank’s target, easing immediate inflation concerns, and softening the case for prolonged policy tightening.
