The annual growth rate of lending to Swedish households edged up to 2.6% in July 2025 from 2.4% in the previous month, marking the highest reading since February 2023. Housing loans. - which account for 83% of total household lending - increased modestly to 2.4% year-on-year, compared to 2.2% in June. Meanwhile, consumption loans, which represent 6% of total household lending, grew at an annual rate of 4.6%, up from a revised 4.0% in the prior month. The average interest rate on new mortgage agreements was 2.84% in July, while the average floating rate was slightly higher at 2.86%. The annual growth rate for lending to non-financial corporations rose to 2.7% from 1.9% in June 2025, remaining in positive territory for the fifth consecutive month.
