The number of registered unemployed in mainland France rose by 52.9 thousand to 3.03 million in July 2025, marking the highest level in four months. Increases were broad-based across all categories, including the core-aged population (+25.8 thousand to 1.742 million), those aged over 50 (+7.9 thousand to 798.7 thousand), and those under 25 (+19.2 thousand to 493.3 thousand). On a year-on-year basis, the number of registered unemployed individuals rose by 216.2 thousand.
