Hungary’s gross average wages increased by 9.7% year-on-year to HUF 704,000 in June 2025, following a 7.8% growth in the previous month. The wage increase was mainly driven by faster rises in all the sectors, including the private (9.7% vs 7.4% in May), public (9.5% vs 9%), and non-profit sectors (10.7% vs 8.3%). Without the impact of one-off payments and bonuses, June’s wages were 9.5% higher than in the same period a year ago at HUF 655,600. Considering the first six months of the year, average gross wages went up by 9.2%.
