Retail sales in Poland rose by 4.8% year-on-year in July 2025 from 2.2% in the previous month and exceeding market expectations of a 3.5% rise. Sales grew for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and orthopedic equipment (7.2% vs 5.8% in June), textile, clothing, and footwear (13.2% vs 11.8%), furniture, radio, TV, and household appliances (13.8% vs 10.2%), and newspaper, books, and other sale in specialized stores (2.4% vs 1.9%). Additionally, sales for food, beverages and tobacco rebounded (4.7% vs -0.1%). In contrast, sales growth slowed for motor vehicles and motor parts (4.5% vs 7.7%), while solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels declined (-4.9% vs 5.7%). On a monthly basis, retail activity grew by 4.4% in July, reversing a 1.8% fall in the preceding period.
