The Ifo Business Climate indicator for Germany rose to 89 in August from 88.6 in July, the highest since May 2024 and above forecasts of 88.6. Expectations among companies for the coming months improved (9.6 vs 90.7), while firms' assessments of their current situation worsened a bit (86.4 vs 86.5). "The recovery of the German economy remains weak," Ifo president Clemens Fuest said.
