In Mumbai, the SENSEX Index dropped 676 points or 0.8 percent on Friday. Losses were led by Asian Paints (-2.4%), UltraTech Cement (-2.1%) and Tata Steel (-2%). Offsetting the fall, top gainers were Mahindra & Mahindra (0.7%), Maruti Suzuki (0.6%) and Eternal Limited (0.2%).
