The HCOB Flash Composite PMI for France rose to 49.8 in August 2025 from 48.6 in July, better than market expectations of 48.5, flash estimates showed. This was the highest reading since August 2024, pointing to near stabilization after a long period of contraction that began in September last year. Both manufacturing (PMI at 49.9 vs 48.2 in July) and services (PMI at 49.7 vs 48.5) saw less pronounced contractions.
