South Korea’s producer prices rose 0.5% year-on-year in July 2025, matching June’s pace. Costs for services accelerated to 1.6% from 1.3% in June, while manufacturing product prices fell further, down 1.0% versus a 0.9% decline, as challenges in the automotive sector - driven by US tariffs on steel and aluminum - continued to weigh on production costs. Meanwhile, prices for agricultural, forestry, and marine products surged 5.8% from 1.7%, while electricity, water, and gas increased at a softer pace of 3.9% compared with 4.6% in June. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.4% in July, following a modest 0.1% gain in the previous month.
