20 August 2025, 14:46  Malta: Inflation Rate Steady at 2.5%

Malta’s annual inflation rate stood at 2.5% in July 2025, remaining at its lowest level since April. Prices moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.8% vs 4.2% in June), restaurants and hotels (3.1% vs 4.0%), and miscellaneous goods and services (3.2% vs 3.9%). Additionally, prices fell at 0.3% for clothing and footwear following a flat reading in the previous month. Meanwhile, prices rose at a faster pace for housing and utilities (0.7% vs 0.6%), furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance (0.4% vs 0.1%), health (2.8% vs 2.7%), recreation and culture (1.5% vs 1.0%) and transport (4.6% vs 3.6%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.4%, slowing from a 1.2% gain in June.
