Slovakia’s current account deficit expanded to EUR 126.1 million in June 2025 from EUR 72.1 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. The deterioration was primarily driven by widening deficits seen in the primary income, which grew to EUR 289.5 million from EUR 238.1 million a year earlier, as well as in the secondary income, which rose to EUR 85.1 million from EUR 49.6 million. Additionally, the services account surplus sharply narrowed to EUR 9.6 million from EUR 60.3 million. On the other hand, the goods account surplus increased to EUR 238.9 million from EUR 155.4 million in June last year.
