14 August 2025, 21:46  Italy: FTSE MIB Hits 18-Year High on Trade Optimism.

The FTSE MIB rose 1.1% to close at 42,654 on Thursday, the highest in over 18 years amid positive corporate developments and a less pessimistic outlook on trade with the US. The EU Commission grew closer to inking a formal trade deal with the US that would prevent the aggressive tariff threats from the latter, benefiting equities among all sectors. Ferrari gained 3.8% after its stock was upgraded by Baptista, the the latest in a batch of analysts recommending the company. Financials also advanced with Intesa Sanpaolo, UniCredit, and Generali advancing between 1% and 2%. The Milan Bourse will be closed on Friday for a holiday, driving investors to have already positioned for geopolitical risks ahead of the summit between President Trump and Putin, with defense giant advancing 2.6% in the session.
