The FTSE MIB climbed above 42,450 on Thursday, rising for the third consecutive session to reach its highest level since mid-2007, reflecting the upbeat performance of European peers. Investor sentiment remained resilient as markets absorbed a range of regional economic data, ongoing corporate earnings reports, and global geopolitical developments, including tomorrow’s meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Optimism was further supported by rising expectations of a Federal Reserve interest rate cut in September. Across the bourse, gains were broad-based, with notable increases from Buzzi Unicem (+2.3%), Ferrari (+1.1%), Assicurazioni Generali (+1.2%), Prysmian (+1%), and Davide Campari-Milano (+1.1%). Index-heavy financials also rose, including Unicredit (+0.9%), Intesa Sanpaolo (+0.9%), Bper Banca (+1%), and Banca Mediolanum (+1.4%).
