14 August 2025, 09:25  United Kingdom: GDP Growth Above Expectations.

The British economy expanded 0.3% on quarter in the second quarter of 2025, following a 0.7% rise in the previous period, and beating forecasts of a smaller 0.1% expansion, preliminary estimates showed. Some activity was brought forward to February and March ahead of changes to stamp duty in April and announced US tariff changes. Growth was driven by a 0.4% gain in the services sector, mainly computer programming, consultancy and related activities (4.1%), and non-market health. Also, construction went up 1.2% while the production sector fell by 0.3%.
