Industrial production in the UK rose by 0.7% month-on-month in June 2025, rebounding from an upwardly revised 1.3% decline in the previous month and exceeding market expectations of a 0.2% gain. This marked the first growth since February, as output rebounded in manufacturing (0.5% vs -1% in May) and electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (3.3% vs -3.8%). At the same time, output accelerated in water supply, sewerage, and waste management (0.5% vs 0.2%), while the decline in mining and quarrying eased (-0.4% vs -2.9%). On a yearly basis, industrial production rose by 0.2% in June, recovering from a downwardly revised 0.2% drop and defying market expectations of a 0.3% fall.
