13 August 2025, 17:46  Brazil: Retail Sales Fall for Third Month.

Brazil’s retail sales fell 0.1% month-on-month in June 2025, after a 0.2% drop in May, marking the third straight monthly decline. Sales volumes fell in five of eight sectors: office equipment, IT and communication (-2.7% vs 3%), books, newspapers, magazines and stationery (-1.5% vs -2%), furniture and household appliances (-1.2% vs 1.9%), pharmaceutical, medical, orthopedic and perfumery products (-0.9% vs 1.6%), and hypermarkets, supermarkets, food, beverages and tobacco (-0.5% vs 0%). Gains were seen in other personal and household goods (1.0% vs -2.1%), textiles, apparel and footwear (0.5% vs 1%), and fuels and lubricants (0.3% vs -1.5%). Year-on-year, sales rose 0.3%, down from 2.1% in May.
