13 August 2025, 14:14 India: Stocks End Higher.
India's BSE Sensex closed about 0.4% firmer at 80,539.9 on Wednesday, reversing yesterday's losses, driven by healthcare, metal, and auto stocks. Cooling inflation boosted expectations for stronger discretionary spending, while reports of a potential meeting between PM Modi and US President Trump next month lifted hopes for resolving the tariff standoff. Meanwhile, domestic buying helped partially offset foreign outflows, according to the latest data. Shares like BEL, Eternal, M&M, Kotak Bank, Power Grid, Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints and Bajaj Finance were among the top gainers, adding between 1% and 2.2%.
