Gold production in South Africa rose 3.1% year-on-year in June 2025, marking the second consecutive monthly increase and accelerating from a 1.5% rise in the previous month. The uptick contributed a positive 0.4 percentage points to the overall year-on-year growth in total mining output. However, on a seasonally adjusted basis, gold output declined 2.5% in June, following a 0.2% drop in May.
