11 August 2025, 10:59  Europe: Stocks Edge Higher to Kick Off the Week.

Both the STOXX 50 and STOXX 600 rose 0.3% on Monday as investors prepared for a week dominated by trade and geopolitical developments. The trade truce between China and the US is set to expire tomorrow, with uncertainty over whether it will be extended or if tensions are set to flare again. Also, US President Trump and Russian President Putin are scheduled to meet in Alaska on Friday in an effort to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, though Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is reportedly not expected to participate. Ahead of the talks, European leaders are seeking meetings with Trump. On the corporate front, Novo Nordisk (+2.6%), Novartis (+2.0%) and AstraZeneca (+0.7%) posted gains, while ASML Holding (+0.9%) and Deutsche Telekom (+1.0%) also advanced. By contrast,
