11 August 2025, 10:51  Romania: Trade Gap Narrows in June.

Romania’s trade deficit narrowed to EUR 2.37 billion in June 2025 from EUR 2.80 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year, as exports rose more than imports. Exports advanced 6.3% year-on-year to EUR 8.22 billion, supported by a 9% increase in sales to non-EU markets and a 5.25% gain in shipments to EU countries. Meanwhile, imports grew at a softer 0.6% from a year earlier to EUR 10.59 billion, mainly reflecting a 3.5% increase in purchases from EU markets, while non-EU markets saw a 6.7% decrease in purchases. In the first half of the year, trade deficit widened to EUR 16.71 billion from 16.17 billion in the same period last year, as exports rose 3.1% and imports increased by 4.9%.
