1 August 2025, 16:22  Brazil: Industrial Output Rebounds in June.

Brazil’s industrial production edged up 0.1% in June 2025, ending a two-month slide, but standing below market expectations of a 0.4% rise. The expansion in output was driven by gains in capital goods (+1.2%) and durable consumer goods (+0.2%), which offset losses in other categories. Semi- and non-durable consumer goods fell for the third straight month (-1.2%), while intermediate goods also dipped (-0.1%). Seventeen of twenty-five industrial activities expanded, led by motor vehicles, trailers, and bodies (+2.4%), which recovered after a 4% drop in May. However, declines in mining (-1.9%), petroleum products and biofuels (-2.3%), and food (-1.9%) weighed on output. On an annual basis, industrial output shrank 1.3%, following a 3.3% rise in May.
