1 August 2025, 16:05  Cyprus: Retail Sales Growth Eases in June.

Retail sales in Cyprus increased by 8.2% year-on-year in June 2025, slowing from a three-year high of 10% in the previous month. The slowdown was primarily driven by moderated sales in food, beverages, and tobacco in non-specialized stores (6.9% vs 9.2% in May), automotive fuel (8% vs 8.8%), other household equipment (9.6% vs 11.4%), clothing and footwear (9.5% vs 14.7%), pharmaceuticals, orthopedic goods, and cosmetics (6.2% vs 7.6%), flowers, plants, watches, jewelry, optical goods, and second-hand goods (7.5% vs 10.5%), and retail sales not in stores (4.1% vs 23.2%). Additionally, sales declined for cultural and recreation goods (-0.2% vs 0%). Meanwhile, sales accelerated for food, beverages, and tobacco in specialized stores (13.4% vs 9.5%) and information and communication equipment (18.8% vs 12.3%). On a year-to-date basis, retail sales advanced by 6.9%.
