In New York, the Dow Jones Index dropped 374 points or 0.8 percent on Thursday. Losses were led by UnitedHealth (-6.3%), Merck (-4.4%) and Nike (-2.7%). Offsetting the fall, top gainers were Microsoft (4%), 3M (1.8%) and Amazon (1.7%).
