6 June 2025, 06:34 Japan: Foreign Reserves Fall Slightly in May.
Japan’s foreign reserves fell slightly by $110 million to $1.298 trillion in May 2025, remaining close to the highest level since mid-2022. Total reserve assets were broken down into foreign currency reserves ($1.12 trillion), IMF reserve position ($11,565 million), SDRs ($60,329 million), gold ($89,147 million) and other reserve assets ($15,944 million). Meanwhile, Japan's finance ministry recently revealed that it conducted no foreign exchange intervention operations for the period from January to March 2025.
