3 June 2025, 14:58  USA: US Logistics Manager’s Index Rises in May.

The US Logistics Manager’s Index (LMI) rose to 59.4 in May 2025, up from 58.8 in April, indicating some stabilization after hitting a seven-month low of 57.1 in March - shortly after a nearly three-year high of 62.1 in February. Smaller firms were the primary drivers of logistics activity, reporting a robust LMI of 63.1, significantly higher than the 56.2 recorded by larger companies. As in April, May’s readings reflect a complex mix of trends: slowing inventory levels, which at 51.5 are now hovering near no change, and rising costs across the board. Inventory costs, in particular, surged by 2.8 points to 78.4, reaching their highest level since October 2022, when firms grappled with the aftermath of the COVID-related inventory buildup.
