3 June 2025, 11:53  Euro Zone: Dutch Inflation Rate Slows to 3.3%

The annual inflation rate in the Netherlands eased to 3.3% in May 2025 from 4.1% in April, marking the lowest level since January. The main downward pressure came from a slowdown in services inflation, which dropped to 3.8% from 5.6% in April. Inflation also moderated slightly for food, beverages, and tobacco (7.1% vs 7.2%), while energy prices, including motor fuels, continued to decline (-1% vs -3.2%). On the other hand, price growth accelerated for industrial goods excluding energy and motor fuels (1.8% vs 1.6%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices are expected to fall by 0.5%, following a 1% increase in April. Meanwhile, the harmonized consumer prices used for EU comparisons, is projected to rise 3% year-on-year, easing from 4.1% previously.
