27 June 2025, 20:55 Italy: FTSE MIB Gains on Easing Global Risks.
The FTSE MIB index rose 1% on Thursday to close at 39,669, in line with gains across European markets, as easing geopolitical tensions and signs of progress in US-China trade negotiations lifted sentiment. Both the EU and US expressed confidence in reaching a deal before the July 9 deadline, when steep mutual tariffs are set to take effect. On the corporate front, Prysmian (+5.6%), Stellantis (+4.6%), Buzzi (+4.3%), and Ferrari (+4%) led the gains. On the downside, Amplifon sank 7% after Exane analysts downgraded their recommendation on the stock. Diasorin (-2.1%), and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (-1.8%) also posted losses. Leonardo fell 3.2%, as investors took profits from the rally after NATO pledged to increase military spending.
