25 June 2025, 22:48  Argentina: Largest Current Account Gap Since Q3 2023.

Argentina posted a current account deficit of $5.19 billion in Q1 2025, swinging from a $0.176 billion surplus in the same period last year and marking the largest shortfall since Q3 2023. The goods account recorded a $2.06 billion surplus, a sharp turnaround from the $5.07 billion deficit seen in Q1 2024. The primary income gap narrowed moderately to $3.33 billion, down from $4.06 billion. Meanwhile, the services account posted a notable shift to a $4.50 billion deficit, widening significantly from a $1.35 billion shortfall. The secondary income account also improved slightly, with the surplus rising to $584 million from $518 million a year earlier.
