24 June 2025, 14:21 USA: Futures Point to Gains at the Open.
US stock futures were higher on Tuesday, with S&P 500 contracts up 0.8%, Nasdaq 100 rising 1.1%, and Dow Jones futures gaining over 300 points, extending gains from the previous session as tensions in the Middle East temporarily eased. President Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, which both sides appear to have accepted. Still, the truce remains fragile, with Israel already accusing Iran of violating the agreement. Meanwhile, traders are closely watching Fed Powell’s appearance before Congress today for further insights into the Fed’s economic and monetary policy outlook. On the corporate front, Nvidia shares rose about 1% in premarket trading as the company’s CEO began selling portions of his stake under a newly adopted trading plan which could see him offload up to $865 million in stock by the end of 2025. Other megacap tech stocks were also higher ahead of the open, with Apple up 1.4%, Microsoft 0.6%, Amazon 1.5%, Meta 0.8%, and Alphabet 1.2%.
