23 June 2025, 08:47 Australia: Services PMI Rises to 3-Month High.
The S&P Global Flash Australia Services PMI Business Activity Index rose to 51.3 in June 2025, up from 50.6 in May, marking the strongest reading in three months. The uptick was driven by an increase in new business, which supported employment growth and a faster reduction in backlogged work. On the pricing front, inflationary pressures eased slightly as input costs rose at a more moderate pace. Looking ahead, service providers grew more optimistic, citing expectations that new product launches and business development initiatives will help drive future sales. Jingyi Pan, Economics Associate Director at S&P Global Market Intelligence, commented: “Early S&P Global Flash Australia PMI data revealed that business activity growth accelerated in June, buoyed not only by faster services activity expansion but also a renewed rise in manufacturing production. Forward-looking indicators reveal that further expansions in output are expected.”
