16 June 2025, 14:27 Czech Republic: Producer Prices Fall at Softer Pace.
Producer prices in Czech Republic fell by 0.8% year-on-year in May 2025, slowing from a 1.3% decline in the previous month but exceeding market expectations of a 0.6% drop. This marked the fourth consecutive month of producer price deflation, albeit at a softer pace, as contraction slowed for mining and quarrying (-4.2% vs -4.5% in April), while prices for manufacturing stalled (0% vs -0.9%). Meanwhile, producer prices continued to fall for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning (-3.5% vs -2.9%), while water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services remained steady at 4.1%. On a monthly basis, producer prices dropped by 0.6%, easing from a 0.8% decline in the previous month.
