19 April 2013, 23:53  Fitch downgraded the United Kingdom rating from AAA to AA+, outlook stable

Fitch Ratings downgraded the United Kingdom from AAA long-term issuer default rating to AA+. Fitch expects further slowing prospects for economic growth. Moreover, the UK GDP cannot grow more than it was in pre-crisis period and general government GDP would hit 101% of GDP in 2015-2016.
Outlook remains stable.
The British pound fell against the U.S. dollar on the news to 1.522 from a daily high of 1.537.
