US factory orders fell 2.0% in January, the Commerce Department reported Wednesday.
Excluding transportation, orders climbed 1.3%.
Orders for durable goods fell sharply 4.9% in January. Orders for nondurable goods such as food and clothing rose 0.6%.
December factory orders were revised down to 1.3% from 1.8% prior.
