28 January 2013, 18:31  USA: Orders for durable goods grew 4.6% in December

Orders for durable goods to be produced in the U.S. grew 4.6% in December, as there was a big rise of orders for Boeing aircraft, as well as for other makers of long-lasting goods, but business investment weakened in December.
Due to Boeing orders for more than 180 planes in December commercial aircraft gained 10.1% vs 12.9% decline in November.
Orders for autos and parts rose only 0.4%.
Stripping transport goods grew 1.3% as there is a continued expansion in the U.S. industrial sector.
