Markit reported Thursday on the USA preliminary manufacturing PMI index that grew to 56.1 in January from 54.0 in December, This is considered to be the strongest rate of growth since March 2011.
Output, new orders and employment accelerated and stayed above 50. The new orders index was at the highest level in 32 months.
The analysts say that the US manufacturing sector started 2013 on a strong footing.
