26 December 2012, 22:42  USA: S&P/Case-Shiller home price index show gains

Home prices climbed in October to the maximum in more than two years as the October S&P/Case-Shiller index of property values in 20 cities increased 4.3%t from 2011.
According to S&P/Case-Shiller the unadjusted prices in the 20 cities dropped 0.1%t in October from the prior month.
Home prices were adjusted to seasonal level with rise by 0.7% in October compared to September.
Among 20 cities Las Vegas and San Diego were characterized by the biggest gains, while Chicago showed fall 0.7 percent over the month. So, 18 of the 20 cities in the index showed a year-over- year increase, led by a 21.7% increase in Phoenix and 10% in Detroit.
