The US Labor Department reported Thursday that Initial jobless claims increased by 17,000 to a seasonally adjusted 361,000 in the week ended Dec. 15.
Labor Department analysts said there was nothing unusual in the latest data, as unemployment had spiked after Sandy storm and now falls to to pre-storm levels. Jobless Claims for the previous week were revised to 344,000 from an initial 343,000.
