9 October 2012, 18:34  UK, NIESR: GDP in 3Q grows 0.8%

U.K. gross domestic product expanded 0.8% in the 3 quarter, according to the National Institute for Economic and Social Research (NIESR).
NIESR, one of the U.K.'s oldest economic research groups, said that positive data in the economy's performance in the 3 quarter show a temporary boost effect due to to extra holidays for Queen Elizabeth's jubilee and sales during the London Olympic Games. That is why, the "economic growth is expected to be at a significantly slower pace in the coming quarters," NIESR said in a statement.
An official estimate of third-quarter GDP will be published Oct. 25.
