Swiss central bank governor resigned on Monday as he was set to face questions from lawmakers over a controversial currency deals made by his wife. "Effective immediately, Philipp Hildebrand is resigning from his office as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank," the bank announced in a statement on its website. Hildebrand is set to make a statement regarding the move at 3.15 pm (local time) in the conference room of the Federal Parliament's Media Centre, Bundesgasse 8, the bank said. He will also make a number of documents available, it added.
